Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of fine foods, has an immediate need for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician, to join our winning team in Springfield.

Our candidate of choice will oversee overall quality control and plant sanitation activities.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the manufacture of products of the highest quality - outstanding in appearance, package presentation, performance and taste - by correctly handling and utilizing raw materials and good manufacturing, food safety and quality practices.
Take all measures necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
Recommend the implementation of standards for product quality.
Assist in managing customer feedback for product improvements.
Review and maintain all daily HACCP and SQF2000 level 2 documents and programs.
Manage the microbiological testing.
Prepare customer and laboratory samples.
Manage the HACCP Program and interface with USDA inspection personnel.
Assist in the development and approval of product labeling.
Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment, and assist in maintaining a positive employee relations climate throughout the organization.
Oversee the training of personnel in the performance of job responsibilities, including the safe and proper handling and/or use of material, tools, machinery, and equipment.
Maintain an adequately staffed, well qualified, and fully trained sanitation organization.



KEY REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years' experience in the food manufacturing industry
Supervisor experience preferred
HACCP, SQF experience required
Experience in ready to eat foods a plus
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills necessary
