The Research and Development Technician supports the Client Global Innovation Center by conducting both routine and complex laboratory activities. This role involves collaborating with chemists and engineers to advance product development through experimental design, data analysis, and process improvement. The technician will work with hazardous materials, manage multiple projects, and contribute to innovative solutions in a fast-paced, industrial lab environment.


Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Research & Experiments:
Conduct routine and complex laboratory experiments with minimal supervision.
Assist in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
Troubleshoot problems and collaborate with researchers on unexpected results.
Data Management & Analysis:
Collect, summarize, and present experimental data.
Interpret data trends and contribute to work plans based on findings.
Document results accurately using computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel).
Equipment & Safety Management:
Inspect and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Safely handle, categorize, and dispose of chemicals according to safety protocols.
Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety rules and procedures.
Process Improvement & Reporting:
Identify areas for method improvement and suggest process enhancements.
Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation.
Manage inventory of chemicals and supplies for experiments.
Coating Formulations:
Prepare and evaluate coating formulations, including electro-coat, primer, topcoat, and clear coat.
Operate mixing and spray equipment accurately for formulation testing.
Record and interpret test results related to coating performance.



Qualifications:
Education:
A 2-year degree from a college or technical school with at least 3 years of industrial lab experience, or
A 4-year degree in physical or life sciences with some chemistry or chemical lab experience.



Skills & Experience:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork and independent work.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, manuals, and technical documents.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and data interpretation tools.
Experience in safely handling hazardous materials.

Physical Demands:
Ability to handle multiple tasks under strict time constraints.
Standing for extended periods, working with laboratory equipment, and handling chemicals safely.
