THE POSITION

PennDOT and its various functions? If you are seeking a paid

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The High School Intern will serve in the capacity of a Maintenance
Repairman 1, collaborating closely with a supervisor to develop
essential skills in various maintenance tasks. Responsibilities
will include the upkeep of the grounds, assisting in the management
of janitorial supply inventory, and caring for the flowers and
plants located in the lobby. The intern will also be tasked with
cleaning common areas of the building, such as the lobby, display
cases, and atrium, as required. Additionally, the intern will
collect trash and recycling materials throughout the premises,
ensuring that appropriate receptacles are placed outside the
building. Other duties will involve replacing light bulbs, shades,
and switches, as well as removing snow from sidewalks and parking
lots to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: If you are selected for
this position, you will work directly with your workplace
supervisor to determine a work schedule that coordinates with your
school schedule.Internship is for the 2024-25 school year. If this
will be the student's junior year, the option exists for the
student to continue through senior year.Telework: You will not have

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:You must be at least 16 years of age.You
must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2025
- 2026 school year.
Additional Requirements:Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a
Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator,
career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school
professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are
being recommended for this opportunity. Work Permit: Minors will be
required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this
position.By participating in this program, the student and school
agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of
Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be
provided to the student upon acceptance of this position.You must
be able to perform essential job functions.
