full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor

Description Liberty Mutual Mobility Solutions (LMMS) is a highly
collaborative team that draws on the firm's vast commercial and
personal lines capabilities to bring a full range of tailored
solutions and nuanced approaches to the rapidly evolving mobility
landscape. This dedicated practice combines creative commercial
underwriting with product, actuarial, legal, and claims teams
insights to stay ahead of market needs, anticipate emerging risks,
and deliver tailored coverage and programs. Mobility Solutions was
named Insurance Underwriting Team of the Year in 2020 by Business
Insurance in recognition of its innovation and creativity and has
become a market leader with an impressive growth and profitability
trajectory over the past five years. This role reports to the
Global Risk Solutions North America Sr. Director, Mobility
Solutions. Mobility Solutions and works with a range of emerging,
developing, and complex commercial risks to deliver primary
casualty programs across various sectors of the sharing economy and
new mobility ecosystem, including some of the largest and most
valued clients in the company. The primary area of focus is on
mobility risks across the Rideshare, Gig Delivery, Autonomous
Vehicle, Vehicle Subscription, Vehicle Sharing, and Micromobility
sectors. This role will work with the LMMS leadership team, GRS
Legal, and other cross-functional, cross-business-unit teams to
deliver technical expertise and forward-looking problem solving
around emerging risk exposures that will converge as these
relatively newer business models evolve and grow into platforms
with material breadth and scale. This role will serve as a point of
contact for the frontline underwriting teams on technical topics,
questions, key decisions, and/or referrals. Responsibilities:
Provides expert technical underwriting assistance and formal
referral approval for multiple lines of business (auto, general
liability, workers compensation) in Mobility Solutions. Interacts
independently with underwriters and UW managers on mandatory
referrals and voluntary consultations. Supports Sr. Director(s) on
technical reviews of prioritized business sectors and/or areas of
opportunity, product enhancements and controls, portfolio
management, and account reviews, and serves as trusted advisor and
thought leader on emerging risk exposure identification and
mitigation, coverage analysis, financial and collateral analysis,
and key pricing and program structure considerations. Works
collaboratively with peers to proactively build and adapt
underwriting positions, product needs, and underwriting guidelines;
monitors evolving state regulations, legislation, key legal cases,
and claims trends to enable informed perspective. Evaluates
portfolio performance regularly, working with Underwriting Managers
and cross-functional Senior Staff to identify drivers of
performance, risks, and opportunities. Monitors frameworks for
underwriting decisions (e.g., referrals, technical reviews, quality
assurance) and recommends improvements, as needed. Drives UW
technical excellence across Mobility Solutions, working with
Underwriting Managers and cross-functional Senior Staff to identify
and resolve issues. Works with Underwriting Managers and
cross-functional Senior Staff to identify product and services
enhancements, underwriter capability development opportunities
(e.g., skills, tools), and UW process, technology and data
needs/enhancements, and works with others to create actions plans
and/or develop business cases for prioritization. Models effective
collaboration within and across teams and business unit
stakeholders and functional partners (e.g., UW Support, Claims,
Actuarial, Product, Client, OOU, Credit, Finance, Reinsurance).
Ensures that strategic connectivity is maintained and a holistic
underwriting perspective is applied to appetite and coverage
positions on sharing economy and mobility platform risks across
other lines of business offered in GRS NA, such as excess casualty
and inland marine exposures for autonomous vehicle risks, as one
example. Qualifications Preparation, Training & Experience
Expert-level knowledge of all aspects of coverage forms,
exclusions, exposure, pricing, structure, rating, rating plans,
captives, loss forecasting, credit risk, market dynamics. Advanced
knowledge of and experience operating within several different
industry segments, experience with and knowledge of Auto and GL
programs is key, including contractual liability; insurance
operations; claims, finance and actuarial concepts; regulatory
environment; loss control/risk engineering; reinsurance; account
management; product development; and industry trends. Must be a
skilled collaborator who is willing to assess all sides of an
issue, bring in others with expertise, and independently execute
and advance the collaboration model. Other professional skills
required include: superior communication skills (written, verbal,
presentation, listening); approachability; tact;
coaching/development; analyzing and problem solving; relationship
and service driven; clear solutions orientation and commitment to
achieving segment operational and financial objectives; negotiation
skills; and demonstrated ability to consistently and positively
influence others both internally and externally (brokers/customers)
as required. As normally acquired through a related bachelor`s
degree, 10 or more years of relevant experience that includes
underwriting, claims, reinsurance, coaching/developing others,
working with brokers/agents and currency with market trends and
