What You'll Do As a Veterinary Oncology Technician at MVA, you will be at the heart of patient care, supporting both pets and their people often during challenging times. In this role, you will:
  • Prepare and administer chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive medications following strict safety protocols.
  • Monitor patients pre- and post-treatment, carefully tracking vital signs, potential side effects, and overall comfort.
  • Collaborate with oncologists and fellow technicians to develop and update personalized treatment plans, ensuring the highest standard of care.
  • Provide compassionate client communication, including education about treatment options, home care, and ongoing symptom management.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures such as blood draws, imaging (radiographs, CT, MRI), and sample collection for cytology or histopathology.
  • Support the emotional well-being of clients and team members, recognizing the sensitivity and challenges involved in oncology cases.     Anticipated Schedule This is a full-time position with the following available schedules:
    • Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Compensation

          Requirements What We're Looking For We're seeking Veterinary Oncology Technicians who excel in a specialized environment and are driven by a passion for advanced patient care. Our ideal candidate has:
          • 1+ years in a specialty, oncology, or high-volume veterinary setting
          • Holds a current CVT/LVT/RVT (or educational equivalency)
          • A strong understanding of chemotherapy safety protocols, including handling and administration
          • Excellent communication skills, particularly in educating and supporting clients during stressful or emotional situations
          • Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and anesthesia/monitoring
          • Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools (radiographs, CT, MRI) and laboratory procedures
          • Empathy, resilience, and a team-focused attitude, recognizing the sensitive nature of oncology cases
